The doctors and staff at Alpine Animal Hospital are committed to your pet's health and well being. We are a full-service animal hospital whose mission is to provide affordable and high quality veterinary care for the animals in the greater Corvallis area.  

Alpine Animal Hospital has been a Corvallis fixture since 1970. The clinic is located in the scenic hills of North Corvallis on Highland Drive, just north of Crescent Valley High School. A highly qualified staff of three doctors, certified technicians and assistants is prepared to accommodate your veterinary needs. 

Alpine Animal Hospital is a mixed animal practice, providing care to companion animals as well as farm animals. Our full service clinic offers a wide range of services ranging from routine examinations and surgical procedures to emergency care.

  • Dr. Bret Hixson

    Dr. Bret Hixson, graduated from Iowa State University in 1977.  Dr. Hixson gained much of his early experience while growing up around his family's working cattle ranches in Colorado and Eastern Oregon. Dr. Hixson remains an avid horseman and enjoys team roping and mounted shooting in his spare time.

    Dr. Clark and Dr. Hixson purchased the hospital in 1989. Dr. Hixson has strong commitments to the Corvallis area.

  • Dr. Dale Clark

    Dr. Clark is a 1985 Oregon State University graduate who grew up in Corvallis.  Dr. Clark'™s early veterinary experience came from following his father, also Dr. Dale Clark, who practiced veterinary medicine in Corvallis for many years.  Many of our clients today remember a young Dr. Clark "assisting" his dad.

    Dr. Clark and Dr. Hixson purchased the hospital in 1989. Dr. Clark has strong commitments to the Corvallis area.

  • Paige, CVT/Office Manager

    Paige is an Oregon native. She moved to Corvallis to attend Oregon State and then took the LBCC Veterinary Assistant Program and has been working at Alpine since she graduated. In 2012, she accomplished a long term goal, she took the Veterinary Technician Exam and became a licensed veterinary technician. 
    Paige has two indoor cats, Ziggy and Hallow, one dog Rebel, a pit bull terrier and a small flock of chickens. She loves spending time with her dog and taking him on adventures. Paige also has a new baby at home and is enjoying the new chapter for her family.

  • Elizabeth, CVT

    Liz has worked as a veterinary technician in Massachusetts, Hawaii and Oregon. Her love for animals doesn't stop when she off work, her Husband is a Veterinarian at OSU and she assists him in many large animal calls in her time off. 
    She loves to see the pets and build relationships with owners and looks forward to meeting any dachshund on the schedule.  
    Liz loves to spoil her dog Camo, a mini dachshund. She also has a cat, Chico, who was rescued from the streets of St. Kitts and now rules the house.  
    Liz recently challenged the licensed veterinary technician exam and passed! Her long term goal is to eventually specialize in reproduction. She loves shopping, warm weather, sunshine, vacations and diamonds.

  • Jessica

    Jessica grew up dreaming of becoming a Veterinarian. As a child she played doctor with her stuffed animals and her fascination with animals continued to grow as she got older. When she got an internship in a veterinary clinic she knew that she was exactly where she wanted to be.  She has been working at Alpine for the past four years. She gets a lot of satisfaction from teaching owners how to improve their pets health and day to day life. Jessica's favorite animals to work with are cats because of their strong personalities. 

    Jessica enjoys many activities in her free time, most of them outdoors. Weather permitting she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, camping and the occasional round of mini golf. She has two cats, Binks and Rusty and one rabbit named Gilato. She enjoys playing fetch with Binks and watching Gilato bound around the house making flips and turns in mid-air.

  • Deb

    Deb comes to us from a position at OSU Veterinary Hospital. Deb is attending an online college to prepare her for taking the Veterinary Technician Exam. She is studying hard to reach this goal. Deb has always had interest in the medical profession, making a change from EMT to animal medicine five years ago.

    Deb is our country girl, she lives on a cattle ranch and loves taking care of the herd. She has horses, so after a long day at work she heads out to the barn. She also has dogs and chickens out at the ranch who love to roam free in their big yard. In her small amount of free time, she enjoys cross stiching, reading, and riding horses.

  • Christina

    Christina moved from San Francisco to Corvallis to attend OSU. She recently graduated from OSU and also from the LBCC veterinary assistant program. Christina is working hard to pursue a career working with animals preparing herself with valuable volunteer experience. Not only has she volunteered at Chintimini Wildlife Center for the past three years, she also completed a six month internship at the Esther Honey Foundation, a non-profit veterinary clinic in the Cook Islands. Christina's long term goal is to attend vet school and focus her studies on wildlife and exotic animals. 

    In her free time, Christina enjoys spending time with her dog Nina, her two cats, Sugar and Stella, and her Guinea pig, Phillip. She loves being outside, weather it's hiking, playing soccer or other sports, or just lounging in the sun. When she is inside, she loves baking and playing the violin.

  • Hayati

    Hayati hails from Bend, Oregon. She graduated from Oregon State University with an Honors Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Biophysics in June 2015. Hayati volunteers with Heartland Humane Society and Chintimini Wildlife Center. She is working to gain the valuable experiences needed to apply to Vet School as her long term goal is to become a veterinarian. 
    Currently she has a pet snail named Keith. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, skiing and drawing.

  • Rebecca

    Rebecca was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Corvallis for college.  She graduated in 2015 with her Bachelors of Science in Zoology.  Growing up, Rebecca always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian, especially being surrounded with her pets at home.  Throughout highschool she volunteered at the Hawaiian Humane Society where she spent most of her time in clinic assisting in surgery.  During college she continued to get valuable volunteer experience through the Pre-Vet club at OSU and has also been a volunteer at Chintimini Wildlife Center for the past two years. 

    During her free time Rebecca enjoys spending time with her cat, Crush or hanging out with friends. At home, in Hawaii, she loves going to the beach, hiking, and finding all her “local” food.
